It is affiliated with Wayne State University (WSU), which has the largest single-campus medical school in the country.
KCI is the only hospital in Michigan solely dedicated to fighting cancer and also is one of only 11 free standing cancer centers in the country. An NCI comprehensive cancer center since 1978, the Institute’s programs are operated in collaboration with WSU.
